Mapping of Riverside Houses
Our project originated from the mapping and georeferencing of houses on the islands close to Belém.
This pioneering work inspired us to extend our research to the island of Marajó, cataloging this vernacular architectural knowledge
Mapping of the Islands Near Belém:
We began our journey diving on the islands adjacent to Belém, mapping and georeferencing the various riverside houses. This previous work revealed architectural diversity and was the starting point for recognizing the richness and complexity of vernacular construction methods. Driven by this initial discovery, we expanded our search towards the majestic Island of Marajó.

In our search for houses, we found people, and since the beginning of the research, they have been our teachers, true guardians of local traditions and we can only be grateful for these teachings.
